Follow the yellow brick road! In this rare concert presentation, the Cape Symphony partners with Cotuit Center for the Arts to perform the original lush Harold Arlen score and the script of “The Wizard of Oz.”

Actors will read the script and sing the songs from the 1939 movie, standing on stage with the orchestra. Our production will be based on the 1995 television presentation, "The Wizard of Oz in Concert," starring singer Jewel as Dorothy, Jackson Browne as the Scarecrow, Roger Daltrey as the Tin Man, and Nathan Lane as the Cowardly Lion. You can watch a video of the original TNT broadcast on YouTube

The familiar songs like “Over the Rainbow,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard” and “If I Only Had a Brain” transport you to the Land of Oz, where you meet up with old friends Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and more, all played by some of the Cape's best actors. Fun for all ages!
